About Us

Every Bohra grows up with a story about who the Imam is, who our religious leadership is, and why we follow the path we follow. For most of us, that story was handed down — through family, through community, through the Masjid — long before we were old enough to ask whether it was actually true.

This site began with a simple, uncomfortable question: if someone asked me to prove this with evidence, from the actual hadith and history — not from what I was told growing up — could I?

That question led to months of digging through classical sources: the works of Shaykh al-Tusi, the early Shia hadith collections, Sunni biographical works, and the arguments Ismaili scholars themselves put forward in their own defense. What emerged was not a simple answer, but a clearer picture than we started with — and a conviction that this picture deserved to be shared.

bohra2shia.com exists because we believe every Bohra — whatever branch of the community they belong to — is entitled to that same depth of inquiry. Not a secondhand version of someone else's conclusion, but the actual primary sources — hadith, history, and the reasoning on both sides — laid out so you can test it for yourself.

We are not scholars claiming final authority. We are students of this question, still learning, who have chosen to share our research as we build it — openly, with sources attached, and with the counter-arguments included rather than hidden. If Imamat is as serious a matter as our own tradition says it is, it deserves nothing less than an honest, uncomfortable look.

This site is for anyone willing to take that look — Bohra or otherwise.
