Bohra2shia.com is a research and educational resource dedicated to examining the question of true spiritual leadership (Imamate) after Prophet Muhammad (s), with a specific focus on the succession following Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.) — the historical point where the Twelver (Ithna Ashari) and Ismaili paths diverged.
Our Mission
Our aim is simple: to lay out the hadith, historical records, and scholarly arguments from both traditions clearly and honestly, so that readers — particularly members of the Dawoodi Bohra community — can study the evidence for themselves and reach an informed conclusion.
We are not interested in polemics for their own sake. Every article on this site strives to present the strongest form of each position, cite credible sources, and acknowledge counter-arguments rather than ignore them.
Our Research Focus
Our core research focus is the Imamate dispute between Imam Musa al-Kazim (a.s.) and Ismail ibn Ja'far, examining questions such as:
- Did Ismail predecease his father?
- What does the doctrine of explicit designation (nass) require?
- What do early hadith, Sunni historical sources, and the broader prophetic tradition say about the line of twelve Imams?
- What does this question mean for Bohras today, given their own community's history with a concealed Imam?
